Accounting Specialist
We currently have at least one position available for an Accounting Specialist. Below is the basic job description.
DEPARTMENT: ADMINISTRATION
DESCRIPTION: The basic functions of the Accounting Specialist I of ConQuip, Inc. are to maintain accurate financial records through detailed entry, make timely vendor payments, and other administrative services as directed by the V.P. of Finance and Administration.
REQUIREMENTS:
Education:
Required: High school diploma.- Some college or accounting training.
Preferred: College degree.
Licensing/ Registration/ Certification:
Required: CA Drivers License + auto + insurance
Preferred: NA
Experience:
Required: One (1) to five (5) years of experience in accounting A/R, A/P, Payroll
Preferred: High level accounting work in fast paced environment with multiple
department interaction experience.
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
The Accounting Specialist I must have knowledge of accounting and how it relates to a manufacturing environment, office functions, and good communication skills.
He/she must have experience with business software, including spreadsheets, integrated accounting software and word processing packages.
Physical:
Body positions: Sitting for prolonged periods of time.
Body movements: Maneuverability throughout facility.
Body Senses: This position requires the full use of vision to review supplier invoices and
customer purchase orders. The position also requires the necessary senses
for operating a 10-key calculator, computer and signing documents.
Mental:
Mathematics: This position requires excellent business math skills for developing and
maintaining accurate financial reports and statements.
Language: This position requires the ability to read, write and speak English in order to
effectively communicate with co-workers, upper management, customers,
and vendors.
Reasoning: Being able to determine the importance of data and how it may (or may not)
apply to ConQuip’s business.
Working Conditions: Work will be primarily performed in a climate-controlled environment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Accounting entry of payables, receivables, and other associated functions.
Ability to fill in with assigned specialty.
Filing of accounting paperwork.
Distribution of mail.
Payroll entry and transmission.
Bank deposits.
Perform human resource tasks as needed including benefits, new hire, etc.
SECONDARY FUNTIONS
Administrative functions as assigned.
Collections as needed.
AUTHORITY AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Tracking and recording AP and payroll distribution among jobs.
Ensure all vendors are paid promptly.
Ensure the accuracy of data entered into accounting software.
Answer vendor/customer requests as needed.
Other administrative and accounting duties as assigned.
MEASURES OF PERFORMANCE
All daily and weekly accounting information has been entered completely and accurately.
All accounting filing kept up regularly and accurately.
Vendors are paid on time.
Other tasks assigned by the V.P. of Finance and Administration have been completed as
assigned.
