Electrical Controls Engineer I

We currently have at least one position available for a Electrical Controls Engineer I. Below is the basic job description.

DEPARTMENT: ENGINEERING

DESCRIPTION:The Electrical Controls Engineer I designs, develops, and supervises all aspects of electrical control systems, equipment, and machinery. May be responsible for the installation and technical support of PLC based hardware and software. Requires a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and 0-2 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Works under immediate supervision. Primary job functions do not typically require exercising independent judgment. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager.

REPORTING:The Electrical Controls Engineer I reports to the Electrical Controls Engineering Manager.

REQUIREMENTS:

1. Education

Required: High school or higher degree. Two years of electronics education, or equivalent experience.

Preferred: AS degree in Electronics, with controls design and programming experience.

2. Skills

Required: MS Office, machine control design.

Preferred: MS Office, MS Project, Computer literacy, internet experience, machining techniques, fabrication techniques, web handling experience, coating, laminating, slitting, general converting experience.

3. Physical

Sitting and operating a computer for extended periods. Standing, walking and climbing to inspect customer equipment and take field measurements. The ability to manipulate and read micrometers, calipers, and other measurement instruments.
