JOB TITLE: Senior Sales Engineer
DEPARTMENT: Sales
DESCRIPTION:
The Senior Sales Engineer is an integral component of the sales department and sales function. He/She is an important support element of sales, as well as an active sales person. As part of the sales team the SE will be meeting directly with customers, reviewing specifications, researching, developing detailed quotations and proposal drawings and negotiating with customers to help close the sale. The SE must be able to represent ConQuip in a positive manner, both by report and technical savvy.
REPORTING:
The SE reports to the Vice President of Sales and Marketing. No positions report directly to the SE.
REQUIREMENTS:
1. Education
Required: BS degree or equivalent experience.
Preferred: BS degree in Engineering. Two years of plant
manufacturing experience. Some direct sales experience.
2. Skills
Required: The SSE must have an overwhelming understanding
of the converting industry with particular
knowledge of tension applications and coating
applications. Additionally, he/she must be able to
understand the interface between equipment and
plant ancillary equipment. AutoCAD, MS office.
Preferred: Auto-Cad, Solid Works, MS Access
3. Physical
Sitting and operating a computer for extended periods. Standing, walking
and climbing to inspect customer equipment and take field
measurements. The ability to manipulate and read micrometers, calipers,
and other measurement instruments. Must be able to fly in commercial
airplanes.
DUTIES:
- Complete quotes in a timely fashion.
- Complete quotes accurately.
- Utilize vendors for technical support and advice.
- Increase value of ConQuip services and products.
- Represent ConQuip in a positive way.
- Attend company trade shows as required by VP of Sales and Marketing.
- Maintain accurate contact records.
- Regularly follow up on quotes and sales leads.
- Utilize support staff to improve own effectiveness.
- Occasional air travel (up to 30%)
- Make good value judgment
- Any duties as requested by the VP of Sales and Marketing.
PERFORMANCE:
Performance is measured by thoroughness and timeliness of completed
proposals and overall sales effectiveness.
