Senior Controls Engineer: The Senior Controls Engineer (SCE) will use AutoCAD Electrical to create the necessary machine P&ID drawings, Control Schematics, and wiring diagrams in a manner consistent with ConQuip standards to create the control systems design for custom machinery. The SCE is responsible for communicating with the project manager and other project engineers to ascertain all functional requirements necessary for complete machine control designs. The SCE will develop device lists and BOMs in conjunction with other assigned project and design engineers. The SCE is responsible to check all P&IDs, detail drawings, schematics, and BOMs for accuracy and completeness. The SCE must stay current with available OEM components, systems and software. The SCE must be resourceful and innovative in the application of OEM components.
The SCE should have familiarity or develop the familiarity in the applications of a variety of industrial control components and systems including, but not limited to digital and analog drive systems, PLCs and Process Controllers, sensors, actuators, power supplies, and wiring devices. Additional knowledge in the area of NEC, NFPA, UL and CE codes is helpful.
Focus: The SCE will focus his resources on the tasks that are unique to the SCE; namely generation of P&IDs, control algorithms, Software/programming (drives, HMIs, PLCs), inter-device communication protocols, and system start-up and tuning. On Specific projects the SCE may delegate the generation of the BOM (ConVerge) and the Schematics to available Electrical Engineering or Drafting resources. In addition, the SCE may oversee Service personnel during the start-up and installation of the projects or delegate start-up and installation activities to Service personnel.
Project Management: From time to time the SCE will act as project manager on small controls application jobs. In these cases the SCE is responsible for completion of customer orders on time and on budget. The Engineering Manager assigns these projects to the SCE. The SCE must review the quotation to the customer and must ensure all deliverables are met. The SCE will use MS Project to develop a detailed plan for project completion. The Engineering Manager must approve this plan. The SCE must review the progress of the project through all phases including start-up. The SCE is responsible to report any adverse deviation to the project plan to the Engineering Manager. Appropriate corrective action must be planned with the Engineering Manager to return the project to plan.
The SCE reports to the Engineering Manager. During the duration of a project the SCE will give direction to Electrical Engineering , Mechanical Designers, Panel builders, Assemblers, Purchasing, Machinists, electricians and other project support personnel.

Performance is measured by:
- Meeting project scope, cost, and schedule plans.
- Through put, measured in total project dollars completed.
- Obtaining goals for improving control engineering skills and for improving the methods and techniques used by ConQuip engineers.
Required: BS or higher degree in Engineering or 5-10 years of equivalent experiencE
Required: MS Office, MS Project, AutoCAD (2D),
Computer literacy, Internet experience, wiring techniques, panel building techniques, use of electrical test equipment ladder logic, plc programming skills, web handling experience, coating, laminating, slitting, general converting experience.
Sitting and operating a computer for extended periods. Standing, walking and climbing to inspect customer equipment and take field measurements. The ability to manipulate hand tools and measurement instruments.
4. Direct experience in the converting industry a plus.
5. Domestic & International travel required to customer site.
Preferred: BS degree in Electrical Engineering plus experience
Preferred: AutoCad (2D), MS Office, MS Project, Visio, AutoCAD
