Mechanical Designer
We currently have at least one position available for a Mechanical Design Engineer. Below is the basic job description.
DEPARTMENT: ENGINEERING
DESCRIPTION:The Mechanical Designer (MD) is responsible for completing project designs and detailed drawings as well as BOMs within the planned time schedule as required for customer orders. The MD must be able to interpret complex engineering specifications and apply those specifications to the design of components and sub-assemblies using sound design principles, creative and independent judgment, and generate accurate detailed drawings and BOMs. These drawings and documents will be generated in AutoCAD and MS Office software, and completed in a manner consistent with ConQuip policy and procedure. The MD will also need to communicate with vendors and customers to gather necessary information about OEM parts and applications. At times the MD may be required to purchase parts. The MD is responsible for managing his/her time and to report any adverse progress of the completion of tasks to the Engineering Manager.
REPORTING:The Mechanical Designer reports to the Engineering Manager.
REQUIREMENTS:
1. Education
Required: High school or higher degree. Two years of AutoCAD drafting education, or equivalent experience.
Preferred: AS degree in Mechanical Drafting, with AutoCAD and machine design experience.
2. Skills
Required: AutoCAD, MS Office, machine design.
Preferred: AutoCAD, MS Office, MS Project, Computer literacy, internet experience, machining techniques, fabrication techniques, web handling experience, coating, laminating, slitting, general converting experience.
3. Physical
Sitting and operating a computer for extended periods. Standing, walking and climbing to inspect customer equipment and take field measurements. The ability to manipulate and read micrometers, calipers, and other measurement instruments.
